If you belong to the OBC, EBC, or DNT categories, the PM YASASVI (Post-Matric) scholarship is your primary ticket to funding your education from Class 11 all the way up to your PhD.
As of February 27, 2026, we are in the “final countdown” for the 2025-26 academic cycle. If you haven’t secured your OTR or finished your application, you need to move fast—most state-specific windows for this scheme are set to close on February 28, 2026.

What’s the Money Like?
The “Post-Matric” part of PM YASASVI is split into groups. The more “professional” your course, the higher the allowance.
| Course Group | What’s Covered? | Total Amount (Approx.) |
| Group 1 | Degree/PG in Medical, Engineering, Management, etc. | ₹20,000 |
| Group 2 | Other Professional Degrees, Diplomas, Pharmacy, Nursing. | ₹13,000 |
| Group 3 | General Graduation & PG (B.A, B.Com, M.A, etc.). | ₹8,000 |
| Group 4 | Non-degree courses (ITI, Class 11 & 12). | ₹5,000 |
Note: If you are in a “Top Class” College (like an IIT or IIM), the benefits are much higher—up to ₹2 Lakhs for tuition and ₹45,000 for a laptop. Check if your college is on the “Top Class” list!
The “Hard” Rules for Eligibility
To get past the first screening, you must meet these four criteria:
-
Category: You must be OBC (Other Backward Class), EBC (Economically Backward Class), or DNT (De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes).
-
Income: Your family’s annual income cannot exceed ₹2.5 Lakhs.
-
Marks: You generally need a minimum of 50-60% in your previous final exam.
-
Attendance: You must maintain 75% attendance—the government now tracks this via Aadhaar-linked systems in 2026.
How to Apply (The 2026 Way)
Forget the old “fill a form and forget it” method. In 2026, it’s a two-part digital process:
-
Part 1: The OTR (One-Time Registration): You must have your 14-digit NSP OTR Number. If you don’t have it, you need to use the NSP OTR App and do a Face-Auth scan immediately.
-
Part 2: The Application: Log in to the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) using your OTR. Select the PM YASASVI Post-Matric Scholarship from the list of schemes and upload your documents.
The “No-Mistake” Document List
If these scans are blurry, your application will be marked “Defective” and sent back.
-
Aadhaar Card: Must be linked to your bank account (NPCI Seeding).
-
Income Certificate: Issued after April 1, 2025.
-
Caste Certificate: Digital version with a valid QR code.
-
Fee Receipt: From your current college/school.
-
Previous Marksheet: To prove you passed your last class.
The Deadline: February 28, 2026
Most states (like Haryana and others) have their PM YASASVI Post-Matric window closing tomorrow, February 28.
Did you know? If you miss the deadline, you can sometimes still apply under the “Defective” correction window if your institute marks your form for correction—but it’s a huge risk.
