How to Create OTR Scholarship Password (First Time Registration)

When you register for OTR (One Time Registration) on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or UP Scholarship Portal, you will be asked to create a password. This password is important because you will use it along with your OTR number for every login.

Here’s how you set it up during registration:

1. Start Registration

   • Visit scholarships.gov.in (for NSP OTR) or scholarship.up.gov.in (for UP OTR when live).

   • Go to OTR Registration → Register Yourself.

2. Complete Mobile & Aadhaar Verification

   • Enter mobile number → verify with OTP.

   • Enter Aadhaar/EID → complete e-KYC.

3. Fill Personal Details

   • Enter name, parents’ details, DOB, email, etc.

4. Face Authentication

   • Do face verification through the NSP OTR App and Aadhaar Face RD App.

5. Create Password

   • After successful authentication, you’ll be asked to set your login password.

   • The password should usually follow these rules:

     • Minimum 8 characters

     • At least one uppercase letter (A–Z)

     • At least one lowercase letter (a–z)

     • At least one number (0–9)

     • At least one special character (@, #, $, %, etc.)

   ✅ Example of a strong password: Ravi@2025

6. Confirm Password & Submit

   • Type the same password again in the confirm box.

   • Click Submit → Your OTR number + password is now ready.

7. Use for Login

   • From now on, login with OTR ID + password for scholarship application, renewal, or status check.

• Write it down safely or save in a password manager.

• Avoid using your name or mobile number as a password (too weak).
